ISF - International Standards Framework

The International Standards Framework (ISF) is a structured approach that integrates globally recognised standards and best practices into a unified system for managing operations, maintenance, and reliability. Rather than relying on a single standard, the ISF draws from multiple international guidelines—such as ISO, ASTM, and ICML—to ensure that processes meet or exceed industry benchmarks.

In the context of a Lubrication Reliability programme, the ISF provides a reference framework to:

  • Align lubrication practices with proven international standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
  • Promote consistency across teams, sites, and global operations.
  • Support continuous improvement through standardised audits and performance reviews.

By following the ISF, organisations can achieve predictable, repeatable, and world-class lubrication management, reducing risk while improving equipment performance and lifecycle cost control.
