Spill control and safe storage

Clean, compliant solutions for lubricants and handling

Spill control and safe storage

Everything you need to keep lubricants clean, your workspace safe, and your operation compliant

Keeping industrial lubricants clean isn’t just about filtration and transfer. It starts with the workplace itself. At Lubretec, we provide a full set of solutions to help you manage spills, safely store oils and lubricants, and handle heavy drums efficiently—so you avoid contamination, improve safety and meet environmental standards.

1 - Spill control

Prevent spills from becoming problems

In industrial environments, spills are inevitable—but how you handle them determines the level of risk. Lubretec offers a complete range of industrial absorbents designed to manage oil, chemical and maintenance-related spills quickly and cleanly.

Our range includes:

  • Absorbent pads, rolls, socks, pillows and spill kits
  • Three absorbent types: Maintenance, Oil Only, and Chemical
  • Standard or Heavy Duty quality, depending on use case
  • Dust-free and cleaner than traditional granules (e.g. clay or cellulose)

Where should I store absorbents in a workshop?

Lubretec’s Safe Center cabinets are ideal for organising and storing absorbents within your lube room, maintenance area or Lubristation unit. With dedicated shelves and options for mobility or wall-mounting, Safe Centers keep absorbents accessible without creating clutter.

2 - Safe storage

Storage solutions that protect people, lubricants and the law

If oils, greases or chemicals are not stored properly, you risk leaks, contamination and legal non-compliance. That’s why Lubretec supplies a broad range of indoor and outdoor storage systems, suitable for all types of packaging—whether it's OilSafe® cans, jerry cans, small drums or full-size barrels.

Our safe storage range includes:

  • Spill containment systems: pallets, trays, bunds and retention tanks
  • Safety cabinets: with or without fire protection, epoxy-coated steel or HDPE plastic
  • Modular shelving systems for lube rooms and maintenance areas
  • Outdoor storage cabinets for secure, weather-resistant solutions

All products are designed in accordance with European environmental and workplace safety standards. Options are available in corrosion-resistant plastic or heavy-duty powder-coated steel, depending on your application.

Do I need a fireproof cabinet for oil storage?

Not always. For non-flammable oils or where regulations don’t require it, standard steel safety cabinets with built-in spill retention (e.g. 70 mm tank base, ventilated doors, adjustable shelves) are often sufficient. Fire-rated models are available for higher-risk areas or flammable liquids.

Proper storage of oils  is essential for workplace safety, fluid integrity, and legal compliance. Want to know what your facility really needs—and what’s optional? Our blog explains the different types of storage systems and when to use fire-rated cabinets.

3 - Drum handling

Move and manage lubricant drums safely and efficiently

Lubricants are often supplied in 200L or 50L drums, but handling them manually is a safety risk and operational bottleneck. Lubretec offers ergonomic drum handling tools that make lifting, tilting and transporting drums safer, faster, and easier.

Our drum handling equipment includes:

  • Drum trolleys and carts for transport
  • Drum tilters for easier decanting
  • Drum dollies for mobility
  • Universal drum openers for sealed containers

These tools are essential for any plant where drums are regularly moved or emptied. By improving ergonomics, they reduce strain on personnel and lower the chance of spills during transfer.

What’s the best way to empty a 200L oil drum safely?

Use a drum tilter to slightly incline the drum, allowing you to drain the last contents safely without lifting. A dolly or cart with spill containment is ideal for transport and storage.
