Ode to Valentine (and very clean oil)
On this day of roses, cards, and cheer,
We raise a toast to love - and engineering gear.
They say it all began with Saint Valentine, so bold,
But spare a thought for something less often told.
For while hearts may flutter and chocolates deploy,
There’s another romance: my love for clean oil.
Oh oil so pristine, so clear, so bright,
You keep our machines humming day and night.
No grit, no grime, no murky disgrace-
Just silky perfection in every interface.
Pistons glide and bearings sing,
Thanks to the care that clean oils bring.
No squeaks of sorrow, no clanks of despair,
Just smooth-running systems everywhere.
So here’s a wink, dear Valentine true,
A little affection for lubricants too.
For love may power poets and couples who toil,
But industry runs on a touch of clean oil.
So give your sweetheart flowers, wine, and praise -
And change your filters while you’re at it, these days.
Because romance is grand, but let’s not recoil:
A little love…
for oil.
