Centralised lubricant monitoring made easy

The Luneta Hub is more than just a fitting. It’s a central command post for lubricant analysis and condition monitoring. Designed to consolidate and simplify access to critical inspection and sampling tools, the Hub delivers unmatched port versatility and operational insight – all from a single location on your equipment.

The Hub oil sampling

Why choose the Hub?

Maintenance professionals often face one common issue: limited access to oil systems. The Hub solves this by offering four lateral ports and a dedicated high-flow sample port, allowing multiple compatible attachments – such as oil sight glasses, BS&W bowls, sample and drain valves, or quick-connects for filter carts – to be installed simultaneously.

This means less downtime, more accurate oil sampling, and improved data for your maintenance decisions.

How does the Hub support condition-based maintenance?

By enabling real-time, in-service sampling while the machine is running, the Hub ensures you’re collecting representative oil samples – not stagnant oil. This makes it easier to:

  • Detect early signs of wear, contamination, or degradation
  • Maintain oil cleanliness
  • Extend equipment life and oil change intervals

When paired with Luneta’s Column or Bowl, the Hub becomes a fully integrated visual inspection and sampling station.

Is it easy to install and use?

Yes. Installation is straightforward and designed with flexibility in mind. The Hub body rotates in 45° increments, giving you eight different mounting orientations – making it easy to align with your system layout.

Installation steps include:

• Threading the connector to the machine port

• Securing the sample valve and pilot tube

• Adjusting the pilot tube position for optimal sampling depth

• Mounting the Hub body onto the connector

• Attaching inspection devices and sealing unused ports

What kind of oils and environments is the Hub compatible with?

The Hub is designed for use with mineral and synthetic oils compatible with Viton® and other durable materials. It’s made to endure extreme environments, with the following specifications:

  • Temperature range: -29°C to 204°C

  • Pressure rating: Up to 4.5 bar

  • Outdoor use: Fully compatible

  • Material construction: Stainless steel, zinc-plated steel, Viton seals

This makes the Hub suitable for harsh industrial settings, including manufacturing, power generation, petrochemicals, and food processing.

Bowl

The ultimate 2-in-1 accessory, the Bowl serves as both a sight glass and BS&W bowl. Made of impact-resistant Tritan™, the Bowl is stronger than other drain port sight glasses, crystal clear and chemically resistant.

FAQ

FAQ about The Hub

FAQ - HUB

What is a Hub?

The Hub is a specialised pipe fitting that turns one port into five. If you've ever needed to install multiple items (e.g. sight glass, sampling valve, quick connect, drain valve) but only have one port on your machine, the Hub is your answer. It features four lateral ports in two sizes (1" and 3/4" NPT) and one central port (1/4" NPT) designed for an included sampling valve. The Hub can also rotate every 45-degrees for optimal lateral port orientation.

What should I avoid during use?

Avoid using cleaning agents that may damage Viton seals or powder-coated aluminium

Do not bend the pilot tube before inserting it into the Hub body

Keep the Hub safely distanced from moving machine parts or high-traffic areas

How long is the pilot tube?

The Hub includes a 12-inch long pilot tube, but other lengths are available. Speak with a member of our sales team to place custom orders.

What are the port sizes?

There are two ¾” NPT and two 1” NPT ports, on opposite sides of each other, and one ¼” NPT in the middle for the sampling valve.

Is the 1/2" NPT Hub available in Hight Flow?

No. The high-flow pilot tube diameter is too large and will restrict flow into the Hub when using the ½” NPT connector.

A smarter way to manage lubrication

The Hub is built for those who take machinery health seriously. It brings together multiple functions into a single, compact unit – helping you improve sampling practices, reduce contamination, and streamline your maintenance workflow.
