From the Drum to the Machine: Lubrication Reliability, Simplified
From the Drum to the Machine:
Lubrication Reliability,
Simplified.
How Lubretec's Lubristation™ family — and its newest member, ALEX — is redefining clean lubricant management for industry worldwide.
Industrial equipment doesn't fail by chance. Study after study points to the same culprit: contaminated lubricant. Particles, moisture, and cross-contamination work silently — and their damage accumulates long before a bearing seizes or a gearbox fails. For more than 15 years, Lubretec has built its entire business around one mission: making that failure preventable.
Who Is Lubretec?
Founded in Belgium and headquartered in Malle, Lubretec bv is an independent specialist in lubrication equipment and reliability solutions. With more than 15 years of industry experience, over 1,000 satisfied customers across Europe and beyond, and a catalogue of more than 1,200 reliability products, Lubretec has earned its position as a trusted partner for maintenance teams in manufacturing, food processing, energy, mining, and heavy industry.
Lubretec does not simply sell equipment — it delivers structured programmes built around the concept of Lubrication Reliability™: a disciplined, best-practice approach that ensures lubricants are clean, correctly identified, properly stored, and precisely applied at every step in the maintenance workflow. Through partnerships with world-class brands such as OilSafe®, Air Sentry, and Luneta, and through its own engineered solutions, Lubretec provides the full toolkit required to implement that discipline sustainably.
The Lubrication Reliability™ Philosophy
At the heart of everything Lubretec does is a straightforward conviction: reliable production begins with reliable lubrication. That means treating lubricants not as a commodity to be stored in a corner and dispensed with a hand pump, but as a precision input that deserves the same level of care as any other critical production resource.
Lubrication Reliability™ rests on four pillars: clean and sealed bulk storage, colour-coded identification to prevent cross-contamination, proper dispensing equipment that avoids dirty top-ups, and monitoring devices that detect degradation before it causes failure. These pillars are not aspirational — they are operationally tangible. Lubretec translates them into physical hardware that maintenance teams can install, operate, and take genuine pride in.
Contamination is the primary cause of industrial lubricant failure — and it is almost entirely preventable with the right infrastructure in place.
The Lubristation™ Family
The Lubristation™ product line is Lubretec's flagship range of systems for lubricant storage, conditioning, and distribution. Each unit is built from modular components and engineered to the specific requirements of the client's facility — factoring in location and format, lubricant type and quantity, consumption patterns, drum or bulk packaging, and budget. The result is always the same: a system that protects lubricants from contamination, maintains optimum cleanliness, and preserves performance characteristics from the moment a new drum is opened to the moment oil enters a machine.
The family currently spans seven distinct series, each addressing a different operational context:
- LCU — full lube rooms for 200 L and 50 L drums with pneumatic pumps and three-way filtration
- S — standard units with HDPE tanks, electric pumps, and three-way filtration
- C — compact units with integrated tanks for two to three product types
- M — mobile units for flexible in-plant deployment
- R — retrofit solutions for upgrading existing lube rooms
- HD — cost-effective horizontal drum kits for budget-conscious facilities
- J — storage racks for jerry cans and small containers
Across every variant, the Lubristation™ philosophy is consistent: close the loop between storage and application so that lubricant quality is actively managed, not left to chance.
Introducing ALEX — All-in-one Lubrication EXcellence
The newest addition to the Lubristation™ family is also its most ambitious: ALEX, the All-in-one Lubrication EXcellence unit. Where earlier Lubristation models were engineered around specific configurations — dedicated lube rooms, tank-based systems, mobile trolleys — ALEX takes a different approach. It consolidates every essential function of professional lubricant management into a single, wall-mounted station that works directly with standard drums and IBC containers.
ALEX is, in the most literal sense, a four-in-one system. It dispenses, filters, protects, and monitors — simultaneously and in one compact footprint. The premise is that contamination doesn't wait for the right moment to strike, and therefore protection cannot either.
Controlled Dispensing
A heavy-duty industrial air piston pump delivers precise, controlled oil transfer with an anti-splash nozzle for safe, clean dispensing operations. Compatible with 20 L, 50 L, 200 L drums and 1,000 L IBC containers.
Integrated Filtration
A high-capacity hydraulic filter removes particulate contamination actively during every dispensing cycle. Standard rating is 10 µm hydraulic, with an optional upgrade to 3 µm high-efficiency cartridges for critical applications requiring ISO 4406 targets.
Moisture & Contamination Protection
An industrial air breather-dryer sized to reservoir volume removes dust and moisture from all incoming air before it contacts the lubricant. Dust caps, translucent quick-connect hoses, and a closed-loop valve prevent contamination at idle.
Digital Monitoring & Traceability
A precision digital consumption meter provides real-time usage tracking and totalisation. An integrated M16 × 1 oil sampling port enables quick extraction for condition monitoring and oil analysis programmes.

The Closed-Loop Advantage
One of the most distinctive capabilities of ALEX is its closed-loop filtration mode. Via a two-way valve that switches between dispensing and recirculation, ALEX can scrub and decontaminate a connected drum, tank, or IBC in place — without moving the fluid to a separate filtration unit. A standard 200 L drum can be cleaned to target cleanliness levels in one to three hours. This capability is particularly valuable for facilities receiving new lubricant deliveries that may already carry contamination from the supply chain.
The combination of active dispensing filtration and closed-loop reservoir decontamination means that ALEX does not merely prevent new contamination — it also addresses existing contamination in the reservoir, giving maintenance teams a tool that genuinely improves fluid quality rather than simply managing it.
A standard 200-litre drum can be decontaminated in place via ALEX's closed-loop mode — without transferring fluid or stopping operations. The two-way valve scrubs the reservoir directly, meeting ISO 4406 cleanliness targets in one to three hours.
Identification & Cross-Contamination Prevention
Wrong oil in the wrong machine is one of the most common — and most costly — maintenance errors. ALEX addresses this directly through an integrated Lube ID colour kit featuring 10 colour and symbol combinations, fully compatible with OilSafe® and similar identification systems. Each ALEX station is visually assigned to a specific lubricant type, making cross-contamination errors immediately visible before they happen. This supports best-practice contamination control, 5S housekeeping programmes, and regulatory compliance frameworks including BRC, HACCP, FSMA, and Total Productive Maintenance.
Designed for Industry — Across Every Sector
ALEX has been engineered to meet the demands of facilities where lubricant management cannot be an afterthought. Its compact wall-mounted form factor, broad reservoir compatibility, and compliance-ready design make it suitable for a wide range of industrial environments:
The unit integrates seamlessly into preventive and predictive maintenance (PdM) programmes: consumption data feeds directly into maintenance reporting systems, and the sampling port supports any oil analysis laboratory programme, making ALEX PdM-ready out of the box.
A Practical Step Towards Maintenance Excellence
Industrial maintenance teams are under constant pressure to do more with less — less downtime, fewer failures, tighter budgets. In that context, lubricant management is one of the highest-leverage interventions available. The evidence is well established: most bearing and gearbox failures trace back to fluid contamination that could have been prevented with better storage, handling, and monitoring infrastructure.
ALEX — the Lubristation™ All-in-one Lubrication EXcellence unit — represents Lubretec's answer to that challenge in its most compact and accessible form. By combining filtration, protection, monitoring, and identification in a single wall-mounted station, it brings best-practice lubricant management within reach of every facility, regardless of floor space or complexity.
For maintenance professionals looking to reduce unplanned downtime, extend machinery lifespan, and establish a verifiable, traceable lubrication workflow, ALEX is a direct and practical step forward.
